Almirall says 'promising results' from new drug for asthma treatment

Laboratorios Almirall SA. said it has had 'promising results' from a new drug for use in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

In a statement, Almirall said the drug, LAS100977, has 'satisfactorily' completed a trial involving one dose of the drug per day which has effect for 24 hours.

It said it expects to carry out Phase II trials later this year.
